Sigma Jumpstart: AI App Best Practices

JumpStart Training

56 minutes

Building a Sigma app is easy. Building one that’s still running six months later takes planning. This session takes a step back from building to focus on the thinking and planning that makes the difference between an app you’ll rebuild and one that lasts. You’ll leave this course with a framework to design applications that scale and adapt.

This course is designed for analysts and business users with a Build license who are ready to move beyond dashboards. If you have a software development background, the concepts will be familiar — the focus here is their application to Sigma.

In this course you’ll learn:

- The difference between BI and business applications, and why it matters

- How to define a business objective and map it to measurable outcomes

- How to model user workflows before you build

- How to design your input model for transactions, not just analysis

- How to design flows that match the way people actually work: structured step-by-step processes, flexible record updates, and focused decision points

- Developer best practices for naming, organization, and documentation

- How to plan for sustainability

Prerequisites:

- Sigma JumpStart: Build Fundamentals

Note:

This session focuses on frameworks and decision-making rather than building in Sigma directly.
