Cookie Notice

Last Updated: October 9, 2026

This Cookie Notice explains how Sigma uses cookies and other similar technologies when you use or interact with our websites, applications, platforms, and related services (the “Site(s)”). Capitalized terms used and not otherwise defined in this Cookie Notice will have the same meanings given to them in the Sigma Privacy Notice.

1. What Are Cookies; Why Do We Use Them?

Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or device when websites are loaded in a browser. Cookies can be set by the website you are visiting (known as 'first party cookies'), or by third parties, such as those who serve content or provide advertising or analytics services to the website (known as 'third party cookies'). You can also find out more about cookies by visiting All About Cookies.

We and our third-party partners use cookies for different reasons, including to allow users to register an account and remain logged in; to ensure the Sites work properly and/or more efficiently; to provide personalized content; to generate analytics; to see which areas and features are popular; to count visits to our Sites; and to “remember” you and your preferences. We may also use cookies to test, analyze, and enable an enhanced or customized experience for visitors to our Sites, and to allow the display of advertisements.

2. What Cookies Do We Use?

We currently use the following types of cookies on our Sites:

Category of cookiesWhy we use these cookies
Essential cookies (These may also be referred to as strictly necessary cookies in some locations)These cookies are necessary for our Sites to perform basic functions and to provide certain features. For example, to allow you to perform account related functions, such as keeping you logged in, filling in forms, storing preferences set by users, and to ensure the security of our services and detect malicious activity. As these cookies are necessary, you cannot refuse them without impacting how the Sites function (i.e. some parts of the Site may not work).
Functional cookies (These may also be referred to as preference cookies in some locations)These cookies enable our Sites to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our Sites. If you reject these cookies, then some features and functionalities on the Sites may not function properly.
Performance cookies (These may also be referred to as analytics cookies or statistics cookies in some locations)These cookies allow us to collect information on how visitors and users interact with our Sites, including which pages are the most and least popular, which links are clicked on, as well as other usage data. We use this information to improve how our Sites function and to make our communications more relevant to you. We may also use it to develop products and services relevant to you.
Targeting cookies (These may also be referred to as marketing cookies or advertising cookies in some locations)These cookies may be set by us and our advertising and marketing partners to provide you with relevant content (including advertisements and marketing campaigns about Sigma, our Sites, and our services) and to understand its effectiveness. They may be used to build a profile of your interests and show you more relevant advertisements on other sites. These cookies work by uniquely identifying your browser and device. That identifier is considered personal data under privacy laws, and we treat it accordingly.

3. How are other tracking technologies, like web beacons used?

Our Sites, service providers, and our third-party advertising, marketing, and analytics partners (“Partners”) as well as communications you receive from us (e.g., emails) may also use web beacons (also known as web bugs, tags, pixels, or clear gifs). Web beacons are small transparent images or tiny graphics with a unique identifier that may be included on our Sites and in our email communications. They help us understand when someone has visited, used, or interacted with our Sites or our email communications. For example, we may place a pixel in our emails that notifies us when you open it or click on a link in the email. Web beacons are often used in conjunction with cookies, though they are not stored on your computer or device in the same way, as web beacons are typically invisibly embedded. As a result, if you reject the use of specific cookies, these web beacons may still be deployed, but their functionality will be restricted.

Our Sites and communications may also include other tracking technologies, such as scripts placed within the code of our Sites, local storage objects, and device fingerprinting, which recognizes your device from a combination of its settings and characteristics rather than by storing a file on it.

We use these tracking technologies for several purposes, including to deliver or communicate with cookies; to track and measure the performance of our Sites; to understand interactions with our email communications; and to monitor how many visitors view our Sites and email communications; to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within our Sites to another; to understand whether you have come to our Sites from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website; to improve Site performance, monitor Site navigation patterns and feature usage; and to understand email reads and marketing campaign effectiveness.

4. How Can I Control Cookies?

4.1 Preference Centre. Our Cookie Preference Centre, accessible through the “Your Privacy Choices” link located in the footer of every page, lists the specific cookies we set on the applicable Site/Service, who sets each one, and how long they are stored for.

You can manage your cookie settings, including enabling and disabling optional cookies, through our Cookie Preference Centre.

If you are accessing our Sites from locations where applicable law requires us to get your consent before we set certain types of cookies (e.g., performance cookies and targeting cookies), we will not set such cookies until we receive your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time by changing your selections through the Cookie Preference Centre. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything we did while your consent was in place. It also does not delete cookies already stored on your device, which you can remove through your browser settings.

4.2 Browser Controls and Signals.

  • Browser Signals. You can set or amend your web browser controls to accept or reject cookies, including the length of time they are stored, either through built-in functionality or by utilizing third party plugins. As the means by which you can reject cookies through your web browser controls vary from browser-to-browser, you should visit your browser's help menu for more information. If you choose to reject non-essential cookies, please be aware that some of the features of our Sites may not function correctly.
  • GPC Signals. Depending on your location, you may enable a browser-based opt-out preference signal (to opt out of sales or sharing) via the Global Privacy Control (GPC). California residents can learn more about GPC signals here. Please note that your GPC signals will take precedence over your Preference Centre choices.
  • DNT Signals. Some browser settings may allow you to automatically transmit a Do Not Track (DNT) signal to websites and other online services you visit. To find out more about DNT signals, please visit AllaboutDNT. Please note that your DNT signals will take precedence over your Preference Centre choices.

4.3 Interest Based Advertising. Most advertising networks offer you a way to opt out of interest-based advertising. Please note this does not opt you out of being served advertising and you may continue to receive generic advertisements. If you would like more information, please visit YourAdChoices, Your Online Choices, or WebChoices.

4.4 Third Party Cookies.

  • Analytics Partners. We use third-party analytics and product measurement providers that set cookies and similar technologies to help us understand how our Sites are used. The providers we use, and the specific cookies each one sets, are listed in our Cookie Preference Centre available through “Your Privacy Choices”. Where we use Google Analytics, you can find further information on Google's collection and use of this data at Google Privacy & Terms and Safeguarding your data. You can also opt-out of all Google supported analytics by installing Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Advertising Partners. We also use advertising and marketing partners that deliver advertisements and campaigns about Sigma, our Sites and our services to you. Please review the privacy notices of these third-party partners to learn about their use of cookies and other tracking technologies. We do not guarantee that all of the third parties we work with will honor the elections you make, but we strive to work with third parties that do. For individuals located in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, additional information on how our advertising partners allow you to opt out of receiving ads based on your web browsing history is available via the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance at Your Online Choices.

5. Sale and Sharing.

Sigma does not “sell” or “share” your personal data with any third-parties in exchange for money. However, these terms are defined broadly under laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act, and our use of targeting cookies does involve disclosing identifiers and activity data to our advertising and marketing partners in ways that may fall within those definitions. Accordingly, and depending on your location, you have the right to opt out of such sale and or sharing of your personal data (such as for purposes of online analytics and targeted advertising).

To opt-out of such sale/sharing based on cookies and similar online identifiers, either click on “Your Privacy Choices” and disable optional cookies; or enable an opt-out preference signal (as described in Section 4.2 above).

To opt-out of such sale/sharing based on other identifiers (such as your email address), submit a request through our Privacy Request Centre.

6. Updates to this Cookie Notice.

We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date (found at the top of this page). We encourage you to periodically review this Cookie Notice to stay informed about our use of cookies and other technologies.
