Competition Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: August 3, 2026

Sigma owns and provides a free-to-use cloud-based intelligence platform and related services (“Sigma Public”), which it makes available to the public at https://public.sigmacomputing.com/ (“Site”). These Competition Terms and Conditions (the “Competition Terms”) govern the 2026-2027 Builder Challenge and its qualifier challenges, as described below (collectively the “Competition”). The Competition is a skill-based competition, organized by Sigma Computing, Inc., (together with its subsidiaries and affiliates, “Sigma”) on Sigma Public. Your access to and use of Sigma Public and the Site is generally governed by the Sigma Public Terms of Service (“Public TOS”) and the Sigma Public Privacy Notice. These Competition Terms are in addition to, and do not replace, the Public TOS or Sigma Public Privacy Notice, which continue to govern your access to and use of Sigma Public and the Site. Any capitalized terms not defined in these Competition Terms have the meaning given to them in the Public TOS.

These Competition Terms are a binding agreement between Sigma and you. BY ENTERING INTO THE COMPETITION, SUBMITTING A COMPETITION ENTRY, OR TAKING ANY OTHER ACTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH ENTERING INTO THE COMPETITION, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE COMPETITION TERMS, INCLUDING ALL DECISIONS OF SIGMA AND THE COMPETITION JUDGES, WHICH ARE FINAL AND BINDING ON ALL MATTERS RELATING TO THE COMPETITION.

The parties therefore agree as follows:

1. The Sigma Public Platform.

You can use Sigma Public to (a) analyze, query, and/or interact with one or more datasets or other information (each a “Query”), and (b) create or otherwise develop visualizations, charts, graphs, reports, workbooks, applications, or other artifacts in response to your Query (“Developed Asset(s)”). You may choose to publish the then current version of your Developed Asset. You may also make your published Developed Assets available to the general public by selecting ‘Make App Public’, or by providing an equivalent command (“Public Assets”). By publishing any Developed Assets as Public Assets, you understand and agree that such Public Assets, including any data or other materials contained therein, will be publicly available through Sigma Public, and may be viewed, explored, copied, downloaded, analyzed, queried, or otherwise used by other visitors or users of Sigma Public and the Site. The Public Assets may also be publicly attributed to you as the publisher, creator, author, or developer of such Public Assets, and your Sigma Public Profile Information may be publicly displayed as part of such attribution.

2. The Competition.

2.1 Structure. The Competition consists of five challenges (each a “Challenge”), of which four are qualifying challenges (each a “Qualifier”), and one is the Builder Challenge to be held at the 2027 Sigma Workflow Conference (the “Final Challenge”). Sigma will conduct the four Qualifiers on a monthly basis, with Qualifier I beginning on August 3, 2026; Qualifier II beginning on September 7, 2026; Qualifier III beginning on October 5, 2026, and Qualifier IV beginning on November 2, 2026. Each Qualifier will be judged separately, and the winner of each Qualifier will advance to compete in the Final Challenge. Prior to the start of each Challenge, Sigma will share the applicable themes, details, deadlines, judging criteria, and additional requirements for such Challenge on the specific webpage for that Challenge (“Competition Page(s)”). You may access all Competition Pages at https://public.sigmacomputing.com/competitions. Please review the Competition Pages periodically to stay aware of the relevant updates.

2.2 Participation. PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION IS FREE AND VOLUNTARY. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE IN OR WIN THE COMPETITION. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING THE COMPETITION. To participate in any Challenge, you will need to create a Sigma Public Account, in accordance with Section 2 of the Public TOS, and follow the submission instructions stated on the applicable Competition Page. You will also need a working internet connection. If you participate in any Challenge, or make a Submission (defined below) for any Challenge, you are considered a “Participant”.

2.3 Submissions. To participate in any Challenge, you must: (a) meet all the requirements stated in Section 3 (Mandatory Requirements); (b) build a Developed Asset and make it public (i.e., a Public Asset), that complies with the theme and requirements of the Challenge, as stated on the applicable Competition Page; (c) submit the Public Asset, together with any required supplementary information (e.g., workbook descriptions, oral presentations, videos, workflow summaries, and write-ups) through your own Sigma Public Account in the manner and prior to the applicable submission deadlines specified on the Competition Page (collectively the “Submission”). All Submissions, including any supplementary materials and oral presentations, must be in English. Use of multiple Accounts (or any participation in the competition by any unauthorized or automated means), is grounds for immediate disqualification from the Competition.

2.4 Submission Limits. You may submit a maximum of three (3) Submissions per Challenge (“Submission Limit”). Each Submission is judged in the form in which it is submitted. If you make any changes to the Developed Asset after it has been submitted, the changes made by you will not automatically form part of your existing Submission. If you want the changed/updated Developed Asset to be considered for the Competition, you must re-submit it as a separate and new Submission within the permitted submission time-period and subject to the Submission Limits.

2.5 Consideration and Disqualification. Sigma may, in its sole and reasonable discretion, disqualify any Submission or Participant that (a) does not meet these Competition Terms or the Public TOS, (b) tampers with or abuses any aspect of the Competition, or (c) acts in a manner that is unfair, fraudulent, or disruptive. Submissions submitted after the submission deadline has closed are invalid and will not be considered. Incomplete Submissions are also invalid and will not be considered. Submissions cannot be acknowledged and will not be returned. Sigma is not responsible for any errors, omissions, or other failures in your Submissions, or for any inaccuracies in your Profile Information during the Competition.

3. Mandatory Requirements.

3.1 Eligibility Requirements. To participate in the Competition, you must meet the following eligibility requirements. You must not be (a) less than 18 years of age or otherwise considered a ‘minor’ under any applicable laws, in the jurisdiction of your residence, including any data protection or consumer privacy laws; (b) an employee, officer, director, contractor, agent, or representative of Sigma, or the immediate family member or household member of such aforementioned persons; (c) a government official, public official, employee of a government-owned or government-controlled entity, candidate for public office, or person acting on behalf of any of the foregoing; (d) on any restricted or prohibited party lists maintained by the US Departments of Commerce, State and the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control; (e) residents of or domiciled in (i) Quebec or Brazil, (ii) any country, state, province or territory where the applicable laws of the United States or local law prohibits participating in a contest like the Competition, or receiving a prize in the Competition, or a country where a prize cannot be awarded, (iii) Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria, or (iv) any country or territory that may, from time to time, become subject to U.S. export controls or designated as a country that is subject to a general prohibition on U.S. persons engaging in financial and/or export transactions.

3.2 Submission Elements and Challenge Data. To be considered eligible to receive any Prizes in the Competition, your Submission must include all required elements stated on the Competition pages. For each Challenge, Sigma will provide Participants with certain sample datasets (in the form of CSVs, tables, or sample Input Tables) (“Challenge Data”), and Participants must use at least one of these datasets when developing their Submissions. You may also, in your sole discretion use, (a) other Sample Data (as described in the Public TOS) if provided by Sigma, and (b) your own additional data or information that you upload to Sigma Public. If you use any additional data under Section 3.2 (b), you represent and warrant that, (i) you own such additional data or hold all rights, consents, and permissions from the owners necessary to use it; (ii) this additional data does not contain any Prohibited Content (as defined in the Public TOS) and will never infringe or misappropriate any third party’s intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights; (iii) this additional data does not contain any confidential, sensitive, or personal data.

3.3 Original Work. You represent and warrant that you are the sole author and creator of your Submission and that the Submission is your original work. Submissions created by more than one person, or that incorporate the work of others in a manner that is not permitted by these Competition Terms, are not eligible and will be disregarded by the judges. Sigma may require you to verify sole authorship as a condition of receiving the prizes.

4. Winners and Prizes.

4.1 Judging Criteria. Submissions are evaluated by the judges for the Challenges against judging criteria, which are determined prior to receipt of any Submissions for the applicable Challenge and disclosed to all Participants on the Competition Pages. The Competition is a skill-based contest, and the winners are selected solely on the basis of skill as measured against the judging criteria. Chance plays no part in determining the winners. All decisions of the judges and of Sigma regarding the selection of winners and the interpretation of these Competition Terms are final and binding.

4.2 Qualifier Winners. For each Qualifier, the judges will determine the top three highest-scoring eligible Submissions. The Participant with the highest-scoring Submission will be declared the winner of the Qualifier (“Qualifier Winner”). A Qualifier Winner will advance to the Final Challenge, subject to their fulfillment of all Advancement Conditions stated in Section 4.4 below (“Advancing Winner”). If the Qualifier Winner is unable or unwilling to satisfy the Advancement Conditions, Sigma may disqualify the Qualifier Winner and select the Participant with the next highest-scoring Submission who is able and willing to satisfy all Advancement Conditions as the Advancing Winner.

4.3 Notification. Qualifier Winners will be notified using the contact information associated with their Sigma Public Account, and they will be asked to confirm if they are able and willing to meet the Advancement Conditions. If a Qualifier Winner (a) cannot be contacted or fails to respond within fifteen days of being determined the winner, (b) is found to be ineligible, (c) fails to comply with these Competition Terms, or (d) fails to confirm their ability and willingness to satisfy the Advancement Conditions, that Qualifier Winner may be disqualified and a new winner may be selected based on the next-highest scoring eligible Submission in accordance with Section 4.2.

4.4 Advancement Conditions. In addition to the conditions under Section 4.2, to be declared an Advancing Winner, you must also (a) agree to participate (in person) in the Final Challenge, including being physically present to present their Final Challenge Submission at the 2027 Sigma Workflow Conference; (b) make a Submission for the Final Challenge that complies with the theme and specific requirements described on the Competition Page, prior to the applicable deadline; and (c) provide a video walkthrough of your Submission for the Final Challenge, prior to the applicable deadline (collectively, the “Advancement Conditions”).

4.5 Prizes. Sigma will sponsor and provide the prizes specified on the Competition Pages (“Prize(s)”) to the highest scoring eligible Submissions for each Qualifier Challenge and the Final Challenge (the “Prize Winners”). There is a limit of one (1) Prize per Participant. The Submissions of the Prize Winners may also be shared and highlighted by Sigma on Sigma Public and its blogs, as the winning Submissions, with due authorship attribution to the Prize Winners. Each Prize is awarded “as is” and is non-transferable and non-exchangeable. Prizes have no cash value and cannot be substituted, except that Sigma reserves the right to substitute a Prize with another prize of equivalent value if the published Prize becomes unavailable for any reason. If the actual value of a Prize is less than the stated approximate retail value, the difference is not recoverable and will not be awarded. Sigma is not responsible for, and will not replace, any lost, stolen, or damaged prize after it has been awarded. Sigma has not made and Sigma is not responsible in any manner for any warranties, representations or guarantees, express or implied, in fact or law, relating to the Prizes, regarding the use, components, value or enjoyment of the Prizes, including, without limitation, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Sigma shall not be held responsible for any delays in awarding a Prize for any reason. If, after a good-faith attempt, Sigma is unable to award or deliver a Prize, the Prize may not be re-awarded. All taxes and all other costs and expenses associated with the acceptance or use of a Prize that are not expressly stated to be provided are the sole responsibility of the winners. Where required by law, Sigma will report the value of a Prize to the relevant tax authorities and may require a winner to provide a completed tax form before any Prize is awarded. Further, as a condition of receiving any Prize, a potential winner may be required to verify eligibility and sole authorship, and sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and a liability release within the time specified by Sigma. If you are not able or not prepared to accept your Prize, we will award this Prize to another potential winner. Where Prizes are gift cards or the equivalent, (a) no compensation will be given for lost, stolen, or expired gift cards, and Sigma is not responsible for replacing such gift cards, (b) fulfillment of gift cards is the sole responsibility of the merchant, not Sigma, and such gift cards are only redeemable as specified by the merchant’s terms and conditions, (c) all transactions, disputes, questions, and all other aspects of the relationship between any Prize Winner and merchant are solely the responsibility of the Prize Winner and merchant, and Sigma has no responsibility for any such matters.

5. License and Use.

You understand and agree that Sigma may retain a copy of each Submission in the form submitted and may use, host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and create derivative works of the Submission, including any data included therein or used thereby, for the purposes of (a) administering, judging, and organizing the Competition; (b) securing, maintaining, improving, operating, or providing Sigma; and (c) marketing, promoting, and demonstrating the Competition, Sigma Public, and Sigma’s other products and services. Sigma will take commercially reasonable efforts to attribute the Submission to its creator. You agree that Sigma may use your name, your public Profile Information, your Submission, and any data contained therein for Sigma’s promotional, marketing, demonstration, and informational purposes (whether commercial, non-commercial, or otherwise), without any further compensation, consideration, notice to, or approval by Participant, unless prohibited by law. Accordingly, to the extent you hold any rights in your Submission (or the data included or used therein), you grant Sigma a perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable, transferable, and sublicensable license to use the Submissions (and any data contained therein) as described in these Competition Terms and the Public TOS.

6. Intellectual Property.

The provisions of the Public TOS govern ownership of Developed Assets, AI Output, Sample Materials, Service Data, and Platform Content. Except as stated in the Public TOS, (a) Sigma owns all Challenge Data, Public Assets, Sample Data, and Competition related materials prepared by Sigma (solely or jointly with others), and (b) as between you and Sigma, you retain ownership of any additional datasets and information you upload, and original elements of your Submission that you authored.

7. Indemnification, Release, Liability.

By entering, you agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Sigma and its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or relating to your participation in the Competition, your Submission, your acceptance or use of any prize, or any breach by you of these Competition Terms or the Public TOS. The warranty disclaimers in Section 5 (Warranty Disclaimer) of the Public TOS apply to, and are incorporated into, these Competition Terms, and apply to your participation in the Competition and to the Released Parties. Without limiting those provisions, the Released Parties are not responsible for any technical, hardware, software, network, or platform malfunction, or for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or delay affecting the Competition. BY PARTICIPATING IN THE COMPETITION, YOU AGREE AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT TO THE LARGEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW: (A) ANY AND ALL DISPUTES, CLAIMS, AND CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE COMPETITION, INCLUDING AS APPLICABLE ANY PRIZES, WILL BE RESOLVED INDIVIDUALLY, WITHOUT RESORT TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION; (B) ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS, SETTLEMENTS, AND AWARDS WILL BE LIMITED TO REASONABLE, ACTUAL THIRD-PARTY, OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS INCURRED (IF ANY) NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD 100); (C) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL YOU BE PERMITTED TO OBTAIN ANY AWARD FOR, AND HEREBY KNOWINGLY AND EXPRESSLY WAIVE ALL RIGHT TO SEEK, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, LOST PROFITS, AND/OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF DAMAGES, OTHER THAN ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET THIRD PARTY EXPENSES ACTUALLY INCURRED (IF ANY) NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD 100), OR ANY RIGHT TO HAVE ANY DAMAGES MULTIPLIED OR OTHERWISE INCREASED; AND (D) YOU IRREVOCABLY WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO SEEK INJUNCTIVE OR EQUITABLE RELIEF. Nothing in these Competition Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Right to Cancel, Suspend, or Modify.

Sigma reserves the right, in its reasonable discretion, to cancel, suspend, or modify the Competition or any Qualifier Challenge, in whole or in part, if fraud, technical failure, or any other factor beyond Sigma’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Competition, or for any other lawful reason. Sigma’s failure to enforce any term of these Competition Terms does not constitute a waiver of that term.

9. Privacy.

Any personal data or personal information collected in connection with the Competition is handled in accordance with the Sigma Public Privacy Notice. You must not upload or submit any personal, sensitive, or special category data to Sigma Public as part of your Submission, other than the Account and Profile Information necessary to maintain your Account.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution.

Section 7 (Governing Law and Dispute Resolution) of the Public TOS applies to, and is incorporated into, these Competition Terms, and governs any dispute arising out of or relating to the Competition. Nothing in these Competition Terms removes or limits any rights you have under the mandatory consumer-protection or other mandatory laws of your country of residence that cannot be waived by agreement, and you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence to the extent required by those laws.

11. General.

If any provision of these Competition Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary, or severed, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Competition Terms. Sigma may assign these Competition Terms without restriction. These Competition Terms, together with the Competition Pages and the Public TOS constitute the entire agreement between you and Sigma with respect to the Competition and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings regarding the Competition. If there is a conflict between these Competition Terms and the Public TOS, these Competition Terms control solely for the Competition and matters related to the Competition only.
