Working with Sigma and Claude allowed us to meet our employees where they already were, and provide them with accurate, actionable data.
Hydrolix is the data layer for real-time operational intelligence at internet scale. The company faced challenges organizing its internal data and governing access to it. Enter Sigma. Hydrolix used Sigma to build a curated set of governed tables and connected them to Claude through the Sigma MCP server. The result was transformative, helping them accelerate access to data for analysis and create one governed, reliable reporting layer across the finance and go-to-market teams.
- 250% – Growth of GTM queries since launch.
- 99.9% Success Rate – With almost every query succeeding in a median time of 63 ms, every employee knows they can get reliable data right whenever they need it.
The Challenge
As 2026 began, Hydrolix had just contracted with Sigma and was hard at work organizing and curating its disparate data sources to build dashboards and reporting across its finance and go-to-market teams. Richard Berger, Hydrolix’s Director of Revenue Operations, handled most of this work, but he was a one-person department within the finance team.
Then, as demand for data continued to grow across the org, Berger faced a pressing personal issue: major surgery in March. While he was out, the Hydrolix team turned to Claude to speed up dashboard creation from the available data. This was an exciting new frontier, but it came with additional challenges around information sharing, analysis accuracy, and data governance.
The Solution
Berger’s answer to ungoverned self-service was not to shut it down. Instead, he and a small team set out to build something people could trust, inside a separate tool they already used, Claude.
The team started by curating a set of Sigma tables from Salesforce data, choosing only the most critical tables and necessary columns, and writing a plain-English description for every column to give Claude even more context. They added those tables to a Sigma workbook and connected Sigma to Claude via the Sigma MCP server. But that wasn’t all. To ensure Claude consistently understood how to best answer questions about Hydrolix data, they built a dedicated skill that described consistent query patterns and data relationships.
The Results
The Claude and Sigma workflow rolled out in early May 2026 with four curated tables, mandatory skill installation, team training sessions, and a dedicated Slack channel for sharing feedback and best practices. It was an immediate hit, transforming how employees at Hydrolix work with financial and GTM data.
Since that time, Berger and the team have continued to add related data to the connection, allowing Hydrolix users to answer an increasingly wide variety of questions and build out their own custom dashboards and other artifacts to drive actions and results in their roles. In fact, usage of the integration nearly doubled from August to September 2026 and then hit an all-time single-day high on October 1st. Best of all, everyone knows that they can trust the data thanks to the consistent source of truth.
It’s been incredible to see what employees across the org have built with this data. Their ability to use plain language to tailor reporting to their own expertise has opened up whole new avenues for analysis in every department.— Richard Berger, Director of Revenue Operations, Hydrolix Inc.
What’s Next
Reliable access to data is just the beginning, but it is also essential for success. As Hydrolix continues to build out its go-to-market strategy, it will add more sources of information to this Claude and Sigma connection to provide visibility across all aspects of its business and continue accelerating analytical innovation.
Next, they plan to use this connection to automate workflows, forecast results, and identify the best opportunities to grow their business through new and existing relationships.
