Enhanced Discovery in Ask Sigma - Coming Soon
Ask Sigma will soon offer enhanced discovery, providing suggestions on what information is most relevant to you. By surfacing curated collections personalized to your role and interests—even before you type—it removes the friction of traditional data exploration, helping you uncover insights and spot trends in just a few clicks.
Workbook Suggestions in Ask Sigma - Coming Soon
When you use Ask Sigma, results will now include trusted workbooks vetted by your admins. No digging through dashboards. No guessing if the source is accurate. Just governed, ready-to-use content at the moment you need it.
Turn ideas into workbooks with AI Builder
Later this year, AI Builder will equip every team with a copilot for workbook creation. From mapping out workflows to adding elements, AI Builder makes it easier to create workbooks that are accurate, actionable, and enterprise-ready. Instead of wrestling with complexity or manually building from scratch, teams can move from idea to app in minutes.
Future-proofing your AI strategy with MCP
Sigma will open the door to a more connected and powerful AI future with Model Context Protocol (MCP) extensibility later this year.
As an MCP client, Sigma can pull in third-party data and enterprise-built AI capabilities, enhancing analysis and improving model performance. At the same time, Sigma’s own AI can extend outward—surfacing in tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or custom enterprise assistants.
With MCP, Sigma’s AI becomes a flexible foundation for modern, interoperable AI—never locked to a single environment.
Meet the chat element: Your AI teammate in every workbook
In the future, users will be able to leverage customizable AI agents directly in workbooks. Builders can shape the rules, the tools, and even its personality, tailoring it to the exact workflow.
For users, this means every workbook comes with its own AI teammate—one that’s context aware, governed, and purpose-built for the task at hand. Instead of navigating complexity or chasing down manual steps, teams get real-time guidance that drives clarity and productivity.
Launching later this year, Sigma Reveal gives you the power to break down any metric by any column in your dataset—no SQL required. Whether you’re looking at revenue by region, churn by customer segment, or spend by product line, Sigma Reveal quickly decomposes the number so you can see what’s driving change.
The result: A faster, more intuitive way to understand performance, validate assumptions, and share the “why” behind the numbers with confidence.
Sigma’s latest advancements make it easier to define, govern, and scale trusted metrics—whether your team prefers visual workflows or code-based approaches.
Content Validation - Coming Soon
Catch errors the moment a model changes. Content validation highlights what’s broken, lets you remap fields in place, and keeps workbooks healthy. By surfacing issues early and fixing them fast, teams can deploy changes safely without downtime, broken dashboards, or extra support load.
dbt Core Integration - Coming Soon
Pull in dbt metadata and test results directly into Sigma. Analysts get full context on data quality without switching platforms. Our dbt Core integration eliminates platform switching, reduces errors, and enables analysts to move faster, without ever leaving Sigma.

Snowflake Semantic Views - Available Now
Define core business metrics like ARR or churn once in Snowflake and reuse them everywhere. Semantic Views ensure accuracy in calculations, reduce errors, and accelerate speed to insight.

Data Model Code Representation (YAML) - Coming Late 2025
Expose data models as YAML with API endpoints, allowing teams to integrate them into Git-based workflows for version control, auditing, and collaboration. With data model code representation, we’re bringing scalability and governance to how data logic is built and maintained, bridging the gap between visual modeling and engineering workflows.
Together, these capabilities elevate data modeling as a governed, scalable, and collaborative foundation for analytics—supporting everyone from engineers to business users.
Finance teams still spend hours formatting P&Ls in Excel. Operations teams manually distribute reports to hundreds of locations. Customer teams build invoices line by line. These tasks slow down the business and introduce errors.
Sigma eliminates the tradeoff between static, polished reports and live dashboards that lack enterprise-grade formatting.
Now, you get both: governed, live data with reporting that meets operational and compliance standards.
Pixel-Perfect - Coming Soon
New pixel-perfect reporting gives you exact control over the look and feel of every report—headers, footers, logos, pagination, and table formatting—without breaking the connection to live warehouse data. Instead of reformatting in Excel, you can create polished, presentation-ready reports that are always accurate and up-to-date.
Enhanced Enterprise Bursting - Coming Soon
Paired with enterprise bursting, Sigma will generate and distribute personalized versions of these reports automatically, sending each recipient only the data they are allowed to see. Enhanced enterprise bursting in Sigma now supports splits of data to 10-20k members in a dimension. This combination replaces hours of manual formatting and distribution with governed, automated workflows that scale to thousands of recipients.
Flexible Tables
Sigma is expanding pivot functionality with Flexible Tables, giving analysts more power to restructure data directly in the platform. Builders can transpose rows into columns to compare metrics from a different angle, add calculated rows or columns that adapt automatically as data changes, and maintain formulas even if the underlying model shifts.
By keeping these advanced pivots in Sigma, teams avoid risky Excel exports and keep analysis connected to trusted, live data.
Transpose Tables - Available Now
Convert rows into columns (or vice versa) to instantly compare metrics for dimensional correlation analysis.
Custom Calculated Rows - Coming Late 2025
Insert new rows with sophisticated calculations directly into your tables/pivot tables with values that update automatically as your data changes.
Connected Analysis - Coming Late 2025
Create sophisticated analysis without breaking formulas if your data model shifts.
Hierarchical Filters - Coming Soon
Hierarchical filters let teams explore performance data the same way their business is structured. Define relationships once—such as global → region → location—and let users drill from top-line metrics down to granular details without rebuilding filters or exporting data.
This provides a consistent, governed way to move across levels of the organization while keeping the full context of roll-ups and drill-downs.
Too many business processes stall in spreadsheets, manual exports, and collaborator delays. Sigma Data Apps eliminate those inefficiencies with live, governed workflows that turn data into action. By automating critical processes without custom development or new SaaS investments, teams reduce operational risk of fragile spreadsheets and generate new business value through digitized workflows. Here’s how Sigma makes it simple for every builder:
If/Else Action - Coming Soon
Branching logic is now built into Sigma’s actions framework. Business users can route approvals, flag anomalies, or apply rules automatically as data changes. For example, finance teams can escalate large expenses or trigger reminders when required documentation is missing. This turns static reports into active workflows that adapt to business logic.
Update Rows - Coming Soon
Instead of updating records one by one, users can now make bulk edits with a single action. Approve dozens of requests, update inventory in batches, or clean up anomalies instantly. This saves hours of manual work, reduces errors, and makes workflows more resilient.

Single Row View - Coming Soon
Turn any row of data into a detailed card with custom layouts and embedded actions. Approvers see the key context at a glance—along with the ability to act immediately. Review cycles speed up, accuracy improves, and decisions happen without bottlenecks.
Notification Action - Coming Soon
Trigger real-time Slack or email alerts in workflows when attention is required, keeping teams aligned and eliminating the follow-ups and delays that slow down processes.

Together, these updates take Sigma Data Apps beyond analysis into execution—helping finance, operations, sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to design and automate workflows directly within their live data.
As organizations scale, single-instance environments create risks: sensitive data is harder to isolate, and centralized administration slows everything down. To solve this, the Fall 2025 release introduces Sigma Tenants, a flexible multi-tenant architecture within a single instance.
Soon, Sigma Tenants will allow each group to operate independently with its own data, workbooks, users, and permissions—while still benefiting from centralized visibility and governance. Delegated admin controls and APIs simplify setup, enforce access rules, and automate provisioning. At the same time, tenants can collaborate natively by sharing content, leaving comments, or receiving alerts in tools like Slack or Microsoft Teams.
For parent organizations, usage and audit logs provide a complete view of activity across tenants, while still allowing each group to track and manage its own environment. This balances autonomy with oversight, providing enterprises with a secure way to scale analytics without compromising delivery speed.
The Fall 2025 release takes the work people already do in Sigma and makes it faster, easier, and more reliable. You can now ask questions in more ways with AI, uncover the “why” behind every metric, build apps directly from dashboards, and deliver enterprise-grade reporting—all without adding new systems or extra overhead. Everything stays live in your warehouse, governed, and collaborative.
