Emerson Group’s business depends on giving brands and retail partners clear, timely insights across every part of the value chain. From monitoring sales and inventory levels at major retailers, to tracking promotional performance, logistics efficiency, and financial reporting, Emerson’s teams produce reporting that drives day-to-day decisions. Their clients rely on Emerson for visibility into what’s happening in stores, online channels, and supply chains—so delays or gaps in reporting directly impact outcomes.
Before adopting Sigma, Emerson heavily relied on a traditional BI platform for reporting. While the platform offered good visualization capabilities, it didn’t fully support the level of modular embedding needed by Emerson. This made it more challenging to deliver flexible, timely insights directly within their digital platform. Analysts were maintaining more than 50 reports, many of which required frequent updates and manual intervention. Even small changes could take a day or two to turn around, creating friction for both internal teams and retail partners waiting on insights.
The result was a reporting process that consumed valuable time and delayed decision-making. Business leaders often had to wait for refreshed reports, while partners were limited by static dashboards and inconsistent access to real-time information.
“What makes Emerson exceptional is our ability to bridge the gap between data and action—delivering solutions that have a direct, measurable impact on outcomes,” said Pooja Mohite, Data Analyst at Emerson Group.

Emerson’s transition to Sigma marked a turning point. By adopting Sigma’s cloud-native, spreadsheet-like interface and powerful embedding analytics capabilities, the company created a scalable reporting environment that placed insights directly in the hands of decision-makers.
With Sigma, Emerson integrated customized, modular reports directly into its digital platform, giving partners real-time access to the information that matters most. Sigma’s flexible embedding capabilities enabled Emerson to tailor dashboards by partner and use case—embedding only what was relevant without having to duplicate or recreate assets. Today, more than 20 embedded dashboards are in production, covering everything from sales and inventory to promotions and logistics.
Adoption has been strong: most partners whose reports are embedded now actively use Sigma dashboards as part of their day-to-day workflows. Rather than waiting on static files, retailer teams can log into Emerson’s platform, access reports with just a few clicks, and drill into trends or segment results on demand.
This ease of access has been transformative. Partners no longer rely on analysts to refresh or distribute files—instead, they have trends and insights at their fingertips, enabling them to make faster, data-driven decisions directly from the platform.
“Embedding Sigma reports directly into our platform changed the game,” said Mohite. “Business partners can explore data in real time on one platform.”
Beyond embedding, Sigma has significantly streamlined Emerson’s internal reporting processes. Legacy reports that once required analysts to manually build Excel worksheets have been fully replaced by live Sigma dashboards. The platform’s intuitive, spreadsheet-like interface made it easy for analysts and business users to adopt, while also offering enhanced functionality that minimized manual intervention. Sigma’s live data connectivity and built-in features such as input tables have saved analysts 7–8 hours per week and improved data accuracy by reducing opportunities for error.
The transition also improved accuracy. Core calculations were recreated in Sigma to ensure continuity, while added functionality reduced manual intervention and the risk of errors. By connecting directly to live data and enabling controlled refreshes or edits, Sigma eliminated the lag and inconsistencies that previously slowed reporting.
Sigma made it significantly easier to build and share interactive dashboards across teams. Sigma’s interface is more intuitive and its collaboration features more accessible, teams across finance, marketing, logistics, and retailer management are now working more efficiently from a single source of truth. Instead of relying on disconnected spreadsheets or waiting on report updates, stakeholders can access self-service dashboards that reflect real-time data—ensuring consistency and alignment across the organization.
Some of the most widely used KPIs—such as Dollar YTD, Dollar Share, and Top Performances—are now consistently tracked across the organization. This alignment has reduced friction, eliminated conflicting versions of the truth, and accelerated decision-making across functions.
By standardizing on Sigma, Emerson has strengthened collaboration both internally and with partners, ensuring every stakeholder can confidently act on trusted, real-time insights.
One of the most impactful applications of Sigma at Emerson is a standardized, real-time retailer dashboard that aggregates key metrics across partners. To ensure a smooth transition, the team first replicated existing reports from the previous platform to maintain familiarity for users, then layered on new capabilities enabled by Sigma.
While live data access existed before, Sigma has delivered significant improvements in performance—most notably, faster data loading and smoother interaction with reports. Dashboards now pull directly from the data warehouse with minimal lag, and all related reports are consolidated into a single, centralized platform.
This combination of speed, accessibility, and a streamlined user experience has improved how retailer teams and executives monitor financial and operational performance. Leaders have quicker visibility into the metrics that matter most—enabling faster, more confident decision-making without disrupting user continuity.
“The standardized retailer dashboard has provided visibility to the essential metrics, giving leadership the ability to make faster, more informed decisions,” said Mohite.

Emerson’s adoption of Sigma has created momentum for expanding data-driven decision-making across the organization. The company plans to extend embedded analytics to more retail and brand partners, ensuring that the entire ecosystem benefits from self-service access to trusted data. Internally, teams are already exploring new use cases, from sales forecasting to supply chain optimization, that will further expand the value of the platform.
Looking ahead, Emerson also sees potential in leveraging advanced features such as Ask Sigma, Sigma’s natural language query capability. This will allow non-technical stakeholders to engage with data even more intuitively, asking questions in plain English and receiving instant answers. By continuing to democratize access, Emerson hopes to deepen its culture of self-service analytics, ensuring that every team member and partner has the insights they need to drive impact.
“Sigma gave us a more scalable, user-friendly reporting solution,” said Mohite. “It’s not just about efficiency—it’s about creating a culture where everyone has access to the insights they need.”
