Materialization lets you write Sigma Data Blocks back to your data warehouse as a table. The Data Blocks will be written to a table in your data warehouse on the schedule that you set. The table in the warehouse will be overwritten each time the materialization schedule runs.
Set Up Materialization
Only Admins can set up Materialization schedules.
Which Data Blocks Can Be Materialized
All SQL Blocks can be materialized.
Only Worksheet Blocks that exclusively use Table Blocks, Inline SQL, and CSV Uploads as a source will have materialization available.
If parameters or system functions are used in the Data Block, materialization will not be available.
Materialized Tables in Your Warehouse
Materialized tables exist in the schema designated when you set up Write Access. They are visible through your cloud data warehouse but are not intended to be used as source tables for other applications. They also will not show up in Sigma through the connection browser.
If changes are made to materialized tables in the database, it will result in unexpected behavior, results or query failures.
Deleting Materialized Tables
When a materialization schedule is deleted completely, Sigma will automatically remove the materialized table from the warehouse. It can take up to 24 hours for the table to be deleted.
