Searches a string for a substring, and replaces it.

Usage

Replace(<string>,<substring>,<replacement>)

string (required) String to be searched and modified.

substring (required) String to be found and replaced.

replacement (required) String to replace the indicated substring.

Examples

Replace(“Kings County”, “ County”, “”)
  • Finds “ County” and replaces it with an empty string, effectively deleting a portion of the original string.
Replace([City], “SF”, “San Francisco”)
  • Searches the Column [City] for “SF” and replaces it with “San Francisco”

When inputting a string, use quotation marks to indicate it as a string. “This is read as a string”

If you would like to include quotes in your string, you can use a slash \ to indicate the following quote is part of the string. “\”This is a string with quotes\”” will display as “This is a string with quotes”
